Live Worthy of the Calling — The Holy Spirit Corrects the Course

Saturday, July 4, 2026 · Morning
📍 Caldas da Rainha, Portugal
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32 · NKJV
✦ The Apostle Paul · Ephesians 4 · The Calling and the Walk

I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — Worthy, Not Earning

Live worthy of the calling you have received. Not earn the calling. Live worthy of it. The calling was received — chosen before the foundation of the world. How does the chosen soul live? Humbly. Gently. Patiently. Bearing with one another in love.

✦ Paul · Grace Apportioned

To each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become the mature body of him who is the head. The whole body grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — Each Part Does Its Work

Pastors and teachers are gifts — given by the One who descended to the lowest and ascended to the highest. The mature soul is not blown by every wind. She speaks truth in love. The whole body builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Le's part — the morning devotion, the Word opened — is her work. And the body is built up by it.

✦ Paul · Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, along with every form of malice.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

✦ From Le's Heart · Caldas da Rainha · July 4, 2026

I needed to read Ephesians 4 to correct my attitude. Under stress, I tend to go back to my old nature. We all do — but thank God for the Holy Spirit to guide us and put us back on track.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — The Course Corrected

The most honest note of forty-eight mornings: under stress, I tend to go back to my old nature. We all do. The 500 denari soul who knows where the old gravity still pulls.

Kempis: pressed by temptation they return to their own devices. Augustine: my weight is my love. Under stress, the weight shifts. The old nature has its own gravity. Without the Holy Spirit correcting the course, the soul drifts to the nowhere road.

But Le opened the Word. She did not stay in the old nature. She read Ephesians 4 and let it correct her attitude. The going back is not the end. The beginning again is the grace. The Holy Spirit — the same Spirit who sealed her — put her back on track this morning.

Forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. The 500 denari charter. The correction is not punishment. It is the Father redirecting the child who wandered.

Worthy of the Calling

Not earning — living worthy. Humble, gentle, patient. The calling was received. The walk is the response.

🎁

Grace Apportioned

Pastors, teachers — gifts given by Christ. Each part does its work. The body builds itself up in love.

Back on Track

Under stress, the old nature pulls. But the Word corrects. The Holy Spirit redirects. The going back is not the end.

💛

Forgiving as Forgiven

The 500 denari charter. Forgiven much, forgiving much. The correction is the Father redirecting the child.
