Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything.
If the Lord is telling us to understand His will, it is because He makes His will known to us.

Ephesians 5. July 4 — Independence Day for America. And a Portuguese-American reading Paul on the freedom that no earthly independence can give: the freedom of the children of light.
Day twenty-eight — seeing light in His light: "Seeing light in your light is the real evidence of God's presence." And today Paul: you are light in the Lord. Guyon and Paul see the same transformation — darkness becoming light, the soul becoming what it receives. The evidence of God's presence is not what you see. It is what you have become.
