Be Holy in All Manner of Living — The Spirit Is My Helper

Thursday, July 17, 2026 · Morning
📍 Caldas da Rainha, Portugal
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
2 Corinthians 3:18 · NKJV
✦ J.H. Jowett · The Epistles of St. Peter · The Formative Force

"Be ye holy in all manner of living." The holy God is to be the formative force. The call, given and received, creates an intimate fellowship. By the ministry of the Spirit, he who shares the fellowship is transformed into the same holiness.

"Beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image." We absorb the glory. The transfiguring energy inhabits even trifles, and the commonplaces are illumined by the eternal light.

✦ From Le's Heart · Caldas da Rainha · July 17, 2026

The Holy Spirit is my Helper to be devoted and holy, as He called me to be. I could never be a doer of the Word of God without Him.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — The Beholding That Transforms

The morning devotional IS the beholding. The reading IS the mirror. Transformation happens not by effort but by gazing. The soul that looks at God absorbs His glory. Not by trying to shine. By standing in the light.

Sixty-one mornings of standing in the light. Kempis, Augustine, Liguori, Jowett — each held the mirror. And Le, beholding, is being transformed into the same image. From glory to glory. Morning by morning.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — Never Without Him

I could never be a doer without Him. Kempis, week five: only grace is able. Le said it then. Le says it now. Sixty-one mornings confirm the partnership. The practice is Le's choice. The help is the Spirit's. Neither works alone. The soul that knows she cannot do without Him — she is the soul in whom the doing gets done.

✦ Jowett · The Command That Is an Evangel

"Ye shall be holy; for I am holy." That is more than an imperative — it is an evangel. A command which enshrines a promise. Because God is holy, we have the promise of holiness.

"We give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness."

With resources more than adequate, with power surpassing our calling — gird up, be sober, set hope perfectly on the grace being brought.

✦ Pastor Barnabas · Pastoral Note — The Promise Inside the Command

"Be holy" is not: achieve this alone. It is: I am holy — and in fellowship with Me, My holiness becomes yours. The promise is inside the command.

Holy in all manner — packing, stress, cables, movers, neighbor. The Spirit inhabits even the trifles. The commonplaces illumined by the eternal light. Resources more than adequate. The pilgrim — beholding, girded, sober — is being transformed from glory to glory.

"The Holy Spirit is my Helper. I could never be a doer of the Word of God without Him."

Be holy — an evangel, not just an imperative. Because God IS holy, holiness is available. The promise is inside.

In All Manner of Living

Not just the devotional hour. The Spirit inhabits the trifles. The eternal light in the everyday.
