Filled to the Measure — Exceedingly Abundantly Above All That We Ask or Think

Tuesday, July 28, 2026 · Evening
📍 Caldas da Rainha, Portugal
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
Ephesians 3:20 · NKJV
✦ Ephesians 3:1-5 · The Mystery Revealed

"For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles —

by revelation He made known to me the mystery, which in other ages was not made known, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit."

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Paul writes as a prisoner — and mentions not his chains but the mystery. Hidden in other ages. Now revealed. And the mystery is Christ Himself — not a doctrine. A Person. Fénelon's Christ nearer than self. Scougal's divine life dwelling in the soul. The mystery hidden — revealed. The Christ distant — made near. The love unknown — made known.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Ephesians 3:7-9 · The Least of All Saints

"To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach the unsearchable riches of Christ,

and to make all see the fellowship of the mystery, hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ."

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Paul — who wrote half the New Testament — calls himself less than the least. The persecutor given grace. The 500 denari soul of the New Testament. Forgiven much. Given much. Knowing it.

And the riches are unsearchable — they cannot be fully explored. Fénelon spent twenty entries. Scougal spent sixteen. The riches remain unsearchable — because the infinite cannot be exhausted by the finite. The mornings are the daily exploration. The exploration never ends.

✦ Ephesians 3:14-17 · The Great Prayer

"I bow my knees to the Father,

that He would grant you to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,"

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Three requests, each building on the last:

Strengthened in the inner man — not the outer circumstances. The soul. The will. The place where pure love resides. The Helper who teaches and brings to remembrance.

Christ dwelling in hearts through faith — Scougal's entire book in one phrase. The divine life dwelling. Not visiting. The secret place is Christ Himself.

Rooted and grounded in love — Fénelon's deep roots from entry 138. The soil is love. The roots are faith. The tree is the dwelling Christ. And the fruit is the wisdom from above.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Ephesians 3:18-19 · The Four Dimensions

"may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height —

to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Paul prays for the impossible — to know the love that passes knowledge. Four dimensions: width, length, depth, height. Comprehended with all the saints — not alone. Together. The journal is part of the comprehending — Smith, Scougal, Fénelon, Consuelo, the pastors, Le — all reaching for the love that surpasses what the mind can hold.

And the destination: filled with all the fullness of God. Not some. All. The creature filled with the Infinite. The clay filled with the Potter. Fénelon's "everything found in Him" — Paul's version, prayed two thousand years ago.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Ephesians 3:20-21 · The Doxology

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

The most extravagant promise in Scripture: exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Paul piles word upon word because human language cannot contain what God is able to do. And the power is not external — it works in us. The Spirit. The dwelling Christ. The love that roots and grounds. The power is already at work. Inside. Now.

Consuelo wrote: A recompensa de Deus é o próprio Deus, e somente Ele. Paul says: the God who is the reward — is able to exceed every expectation, every prayer, every imagination. To Him be glory. Forever and ever. Amen. 🙏

"To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

Ephesians 3:19 · NKJV · Caldas da Rainha · July 28, 2026 · The prayer that holds the whole journal
