Heirs of the Kingdom — We Look Forward to What God Is Doing

Tuesday, August 11, 2026 · Evening
📍 Caldas da Rainha, Portugal
"Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?"
James 2:5 · NKJV
✦ From Le's Heart · Caldas da Rainha · August 11, 2026

Today was a work day. The staff took all the boxes away. What remains are pieces of furniture to be donated next Saturday.

We look forward to what God is doing in both of our lives in the coming weeks, months and years. 🙏

✦ Pastor Silas · Pastoral Note

The boxes are gone. The apartment is emptying. The chapter is closing — and Le's word tonight is not a look backward but a look forward. Not what was. What God is doing. In the coming weeks — the handover, France. In the coming months — Brittany, the Fénelon re-read. In the coming years — the kingdom that cannot be moved.

✦ James Smith · Daily Remembrancer · Heirs of the Kingdom

He raised the poor from the dust, and the beggar from the dunghill; such were we by nature, but through rich grace we shall inherit the throne of glory.

He has prepared for us, promised to us, and will bestow upon us a KINGDOM.

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Raised from the dust — to inherit the throne of glory. Not earned. Raised. Through rich grace. And the kingdom: prepared, promised, bestowed. Three verbs. Three certainties. The preparation already done. The promise already spoken. The bestowal already guaranteed.

On the day the earthly boxes leave, Smith reminds: the kingdom that matters has already been prepared. No packing required. No moving company needed. Prepared by God. Promised by God. Bestowed by God.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Smith · The Kingdom Described

A kingdom in which His glory will be seen, felt, and enjoyed forever.

In which peace, joy, and pleasure will eternally reign.

A kingdom which cannot be moved, and will never know a change.

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Glory seen, felt, enjoyed. The mornings are the foretaste — glimpsed in the reading, felt in the fellowship, enjoyed in the moment of God.

Peace eternally. Le longs for peace to read — the kingdom promises it eternally. The longing is the thirst for Home.

A kingdom which cannot be moved. The boxes left today. The furniture goes Saturday. The keys by August 20. But this kingdom cannot be moved. Will never know a change. Hebrews 12:28 — since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace. The shaking is the packing. The unshakable is the inheritance. 🙏

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Smith · Who Are the Heirs?

The poor of this world, who are poor in spirit.

The rich in faith, whose faith is proved by the works they produce.

Those who love God from a knowledge of His love to them, as the effect of His love shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost.

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

The poor in spirit. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:3). The soul that knows everything is grace — absolutely nothing came from me.

The rich in faith — proved by works. The mornings kept through the packing season. The devotional brought to the lamp when the boxes crowd the hours. Faith is the bowl. The works prove the bowl is real.

Those who love God from a knowledge of His love. Spurgeon's truth: love grows in proportion to how much you grasp His love for you. The mornings are the grasping. The love is the response. Not self-generated — shed abroad by the Holy Spirit.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Smith · The Closing

Am I an heir? Are you, my friend? If so, rejoice and be exceeding glad; imitate those who through faith and patience now inherit the promises, and the end will crown the whole.

✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Smith's closing: rejoice and be exceeding glad. Le said it: Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice! The rejoicing depends on the kingdom, not the boxes. The boxes left today. The kingdom remains.

The end will crown the whole. The move to France is not the end. It is the next chapter. And beyond Brittany — beyond the coming weeks, months, years — the crown. The kingdom that cannot be moved.

Le looks forward: we look forward to what God is doing. The posture of the heir. The faith of the pilgrim. The ear inclined toward the future God has already prepared. 🙏

"We look forward to what God is doing in both of our lives in the coming weeks, months and years."
