"These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God."
"Voici ce que dit l'Amen, le témoin fidèle et véritable, le commencement de la création de Dieu."
Apocalypse 3:14 · Louis SegondThree titles for the pilgrim six days from France:
The Amen — the final word. When God says Amen, the matter is settled. The kingdom cannot be moved. The move to France — Amen. What God is doing — Amen.
The faithful and true witness — le témoin fidèle et véritable. In a letter to a lukewarm church, the Faithful One still speaks. He does not abandon. He addresses. He knocks.
The beginning of the creation of God — le commencement de la création de Dieu. The Creator at the creature's door. The infinite knocking on the finite.
"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."
"Moi, je reprends et je châtie tous ceux que j'aime. Aie donc du zèle, et repens-toi."
Apocalypse 3:19 · Louis SegondAs many as I love, He corrects and chastises.
I've grown to appreciate, more than anything, the correction from the Lord. To be corrected by the Lord is a great blessing to me.
It helps you grow in the Lord when you know what He wants and expects of you. We are created to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us. 🙏
Le's testimony is the mark of a mature soul: correction as a great blessing. Not feared. Not resented. Appreciated. Because the correction is proof of the love — as many as I love, I rebuke. The rebuke is not punishment. It is parenting. Hebrews 12:6 — whom the Lord loves He chastens.
And Le names why: it helps you grow when you know what He wants and expects. The correction is direction. The Father showing the child the path. Fénelon taught the same: God's mortifications are more serviceable than any we would choose — because God knows where the growth needs to happen.
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
"Car nous sommes son ouvrage, ayant été créés en Jésus-Christ pour de bonnes œuvres, que Dieu a préparées d'avance, afin que nous les pratiquions."
Éphésiens 2:10 · Louis SegondLe connected correction to purpose — the correction prepares us for the works prepared for us. God's workmanship — son ouvrage — His masterwork. The works prepared beforehand — d'avance — before we knew. Before France. Before Brittany. The good works in the new land are already prepared. The correction shapes us to walk in them.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
"Voici, je me tiens à la porte, et je frappe. Si quelqu'un entend ma voix et ouvre la porte, j'entrerai chez lui, je souperai avec lui, et lui avec moi."
Apocalypse 3:20 · Louis SegondTwo nights ago: how many times has Jesus said "Come to Me"? Tonight — He comes to us. He stands. He knocks. The King of glory — not breaking in. Knocking. Waiting.
I will come in and dine. Not just enter. Dine. Fénelon's sweet friendship. The mutual fellowship. The being together at a table.
The mornings are not Le going to God. They are the response to a knock already there. He stood at the door. She opened. The dining has been happening every morning for years.
Six days from France — He stands at the door of the next chapter. Knocking. The works are prepared. The correction has shaped. The door is opening. And He will dine — in French, in Brittany, in the new land.

The final word. The faithful witness. The beginning of creation. Three titles — the Creator at the creature's door.
Correction as Love
As many as I love, I rebuke. Not rejection — direction. The Father showing the path. A great blessing.
The Door
Behold, I stand and knock. Not breaking in. Knocking. Waiting. The King at the door of the next chapter.
The Dining
I will dine with him, and he with Me. The fellowship continues — in French, in Brittany, in the new land.
