The sale of the apartment is done. The car is sold. Just waiting for the checks to be posted.
Today I thought, of all the mighty things and miracles the Lord can do, nothing is more precious than His presence.
It's not what He can do, but who He is. 🙏
August 20, 2026. The day that was counted down for weeks — has arrived. The apartment signed away. The car sold. The Benimar rolling north from Caldas da Rainha to Lavos — the first stop on the open road. The crossing has begun.
And Le's testimony on the day of the biggest practical milestone is not about the business. It is about His presence. Not what He can do — who He is.
This is Psalm 16:11 lived: in Your presence is fullness of joy. Le read it this morning. Tonight she testifies it. The Word and the life — one.
This is Consuelo's summit: A recompensa de Deus é o próprio Deus, e somente Ele. The reward of God is God Himself.
This is Fénelon's pure love — loving God for Himself, not for His gifts. The love that seeks the Giver, not the giving.
"I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons."
"Je bénis l'Éternel, mon conseiller; la nuit même mon cœur m'exhorte."
Psaume 16:7 · Louis SegondMy heart instructs me in the night seasons. La nuit même mon cœur m'exhorte. The evening devotionals. Sixty-four entries in this conversation. The heart instructed by God in the day — instructs the soul in the night.
Le's night seasons are the evening lamp — the morning's manna reflected upon, shaped, and preserved in the Beloved Porão.
"I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved."
"J'ai constamment l'Éternel sous mes yeux; quand il est à ma droite, je ne chancelle pas."
Psaume 16:8 · Louis SegondI shall not be moved. On the day everything was moved — apartment signed, car sold, Benimar rolling — the soul set on the Lord is not moved. Je ne chancelle pas.
Everything changed today. But the Lord at the right hand — did not change. Hebrews 13:8 — the same yesterday, today, and forever. The one thing that did not move on the day everything moved.
"Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption."
"Aussi mon cœur est dans la joie, mon esprit dans l'allégresse, et mon corps repose en sécurité. Car tu ne livreras pas mon âme au séjour des morts, tu ne permettras pas que ton bien-aimé voie la corruption."
Psaume 16:9-10 · Louis SegondHeart glad. Glory rejoicing. Flesh resting in hope. The whole person at rest on the first night of the open road. Not anxiety. Rest. Mon corps repose en sécurité. My body rests in safety — in the motorhome in Lavos.
"You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
"Tu me feras connaître le sentier de la vie; il y a d'abondantes joies devant ta face, des délices éternelles à ta droite."
Psaume 16:11 · Louis SegondThe summit. Three promises:
You will show me the path of life. On the day the old path ended — God promises to show the new one. The path is His to show. The walking is ours to do.
In Your presence is fullness of joy. D'abondantes joies devant ta face. Not partial. Fullness. Not in the destination. In the presence. Le's testimony: nothing is more precious than His presence. The presence IS the joy. The pilgrim who has the presence — has everything.
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Des délices éternelles à ta droite. Eternal. The kingdom that cannot be moved. Pleasures forevermore.
✦ The Crossing
August 20, 2026. Apartment — signed. Car — sold. Benimar — rolling. Caldas da Rainha to Lavos. The first stop.
And the journal records the moment — not with a report of the business, but with a testimony about the presence. Not what He can do. Who He is.
Sixty-four entries in this conversation. From Smith through Scougal through Fénelon through Consuelo through Spurgeon through the Psalms through Lewis through Acts 2 — and tonight the pilgrim testifies what every author has been teaching:
The presence is everything. The path is His to show. The joy is in the face. The pleasures are forever. And the soul set on the Lord — shall not be moved. 🙏
"Nothing is more precious than His presence. It's not what He can do, but who He is."
Le · Lavos, Portugal · August 20, 2026 · The first evening on the open road — the crossing has begunThe Night Seasons
My heart instructs me in the night seasons. The morning manna reflected upon. The heart that fellowships — instructs.
Not Be Moved
On the day everything moved — the soul set on the Lord was not moved. The one thing that did not change.
The Path of Life
You will show me. God showing it. The pillar followed without knowing where.
The Presence
Nothing more precious. Not what He can do — who He is. Fullness of joy. Pleasures forevermore.
