My Yoke Is Easy — The Lord Sure Changed Our Lives

Friday, August 21, 2026 · Evening
📍 Pedreiras, Portugal · The Open Road
"The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me — a prayer to the God of my life."
Psalm 42:8 · NKJV
"L'Éternel enverra sa bonté pendant le jour, et la nuit je chanterai ses louanges, je prierai le Dieu de ma vie."
Psaume 42:9 · Louis Segond
✦ From Le's Heart · Pedreiras, Portugal · August 21, 2026

I have been listening to the Lord — my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

The Lord sure changed our lives and it was easy. The burden has been light. 🙏

✦ Pastor Silas · Pastoral Note

The second day on the open road. Le's testimony is the confirmation of every promise: it was easy. The burden has been light.

A week ago Le asked: how many times has Jesus said "Come to Me"? Tonight she testifies the result: the yoke is easy. The burden is light. Not because the tasks were small. Because the yoke was His.

The Lord sure changed our lives. Not Le and Roger. The Lord. The change was His. The ease was His. The lightness was His.

✦ Matthew 11:28-30 · The Easy Yoke

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

"Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et je vous donnerai du repos. Prenez mon joug sur vous et recevez mes instructions, car je suis doux et humble de cœur; et vous trouverez du repos pour vos âmes. Car mon joug est doux et mon fardeau léger."

Matthieu 11:28-30 · Louis Segond
✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

Come to Me. Venez à moi. The invitation that never expires.

I will give you rest. Je vous donnerai du repos. Not earn. Give. The rest is a gift.

Take My yoke. Prenez mon joug. Not remove the yoke — exchange it. The heavy yoke of self-effort for the easy yoke of walking with Him.

I am gentle and lowly. Je suis doux et humble de cœur. The One who washed feet. The One who knelt with a towel. The yoke is easy because the Yoke-Giver is gentle.

My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Le testifies: it was easy. The burden has been light. The promise — fulfilled. On the open road. The Word and the life — one.

✦ Psalm 42:8 · The Daytime and the Night

"The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me — a prayer to the God of my life."

"L'Éternel enverra sa bonté pendant le jour, et la nuit je chanterai ses louanges, je prierai le Dieu de ma vie."

Psaume 42:9 · Louis Segond
✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

The whole journal in one verse:

Lovingkindness commanded in the daytime. Sa bonté pendant le jour. The mornings. The readings. God commands His lovingkindness like a king commands his army. Every morning — commanded.

His song in the night. La nuit je chanterai ses louanges. The evenings. The devotional. Sixty-five entries in this conversation — sixty-five night songs.

A prayer to the God of my life. Je prierai le Dieu de ma vie. Not the God of theology. The God of my life. The One who changed our lives. The One who made the yoke easy. The God of Le's life — and Roger's — and the open road.

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Psalm 42:1-2 · The Deer

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God."

"Comme une biche soupire après des courants d'eau, ainsi mon âme soupire après toi, ô Dieu. Mon âme a soif de Dieu, du Dieu vivant."

Psaume 42:2-3 · Louis Segond
✦ Pastor Silas · Devotional Message

The deer — panting for water. Comme une biche soupire. The same thirst from Salmo 143: como a terra árida, tenho sede de ti. The same from Isaiah 55:3: incline your ear, come to Me. The thirst that drives the mornings. The thirst that opens the Word.

The thirst is for the living God. Du Dieu vivant. Le's testimony from last night: not what He can do — who He is. The deer does not thirst for the water's chemistry. It thirsts for the water. The soul does not thirst for theology. It thirsts for the living God.

The pilgrim on the open road — burden light, yoke easy — is still panting. Still thirsting. Still coming. The never-satisfied thirst is the proof the soul is alive. 🙏

"The Lord sure changed our lives and it was easy. The burden has been light."

The Easy Yoke

My yoke is easy, my burden is light. It was easy. The Lord changed our lives. Not us — Him.
