"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you."
Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV
✦ Le · From Beauvoir, Route du Mont-Saint-Michel, France 🇫🇷 · October 1, 2026

Timely message again from the Lord. For Christians like myself, that are tempted to be frustrated for not living in a new house. We have a new heart, new spirit. He determines that the old house shall be entirely demolished, and that He will build a new one.

Wake up call! 🙏

✦ Wake Up Call — From the Foot of Mont-Saint-Michel

The frustration is real. The motorhome is not a house. The search continues. The waiting stretches. And the pilgrim who sold the apartment, who is parked at the foot of a cathedral built on a rock — hears Spurgeon say: the new house that matters is already built.

The old house that was demolished was the old heart. The new house that was built is the new spirit. And that house — Le already lives in it. Has lived in it since Lubbock. The heart-house is finished. The brick-house is coming. But the heart-house is the one God determined first — and it is the one that lasts forever. 🙏

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Spurgeon · The New Heart

"God does not promise that He will improve our nature or that He will mend our broken hearts. No — the promise is that He will give us new hearts and right spirits. Human nature is too far gone ever to be repaired.

It is not a house that is just a little run-down, with a slate blown from the roof here, and a piece of plaster cracked from the ceiling there. No — it is rotten throughout. The very foundation has been undermined. There is not a single timber in it that is sound. It is all decay from top to bottom, and ready to collapse."

✦ Straight to the Demolition

Spurgeon does not knock politely. He brings the wrecking ball. Not damaged. Not dented. Rotten throughout. The foundation undermined. Every timber decayed. Every lever snapped. Every axle bent. The diagnosis is total — and the remedy is equally total.

Most preachers would say: let us repair what is broken. Spurgeon says: nothing is repairable. Everything must come down. The patching fails because the structure cannot hold the patch. The painting fails because the wall behind it is crumbling. The only honest response to total ruin is total replacement. 🙏

✦ Spurgeon · Not Repair — Replacement

"God does not attempt to patch it up. He does not prop up the walls and repaint the door. He does not decorate and beautify. He determines that the old house shall be entirely demolished, and that He will build a new one.

'The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores' (Isaiah 1:5–6). The Lord, therefore, does not attempt the repair of this thing, but says, 'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you' (Ezekiel 36:26)."

✦ Ezekiel 36:26–27

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them."

✦ He Determines

He determines. Not: He suggests. Not: He considers. Not: He offers if you're interested. He determines. The demolition is His decision. The rebuilding is His project. The new heart is His gift. The new spirit is His breath inside the new house.

Taylor's repentance from September 28: the greatest change — from sin to grace, from prison to throne. And now Spurgeon says the same in builder's language: not renovation but demolition and rebuild. The house is not fixed. The house is replaced. The old falls. The new rises. And the Builder is God.

Le at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel — where men built a cathedral on a rock in the sea. God does the same: demolishes the ruin and builds a cathedral on the Rock. The Rock is Christ. The cathedral is the new heart. And the pilgrim lives inside it — even while the brick-house is still being found. 🙏

✦ 2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

Paul's word confirms Spurgeon's demolition: old things have passed away. Not: old things have been improved. Not: old things have been repainted. Passed away. Gone. Demolished. And in their place — all things have become new. The pilgrim who was frustrated about the house hears the gospel say: the deepest house is already new. Has been new since Lubbock. Will be new forever. 🙏

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Spurgeon · The Christian's Daily Cross

"Believer, Christ Jesus presents you with your crosses, and they are no small gifts."

✦ The Crosses Are Gifts

One sentence. Spurgeon at his sharpest. The crosses are gifts. Not accidents. Not punishments. Not mistakes in the providence. Presented by Christ Himself. The same Christ who has no honour He will not use for our exaltation (September 29) — that same Christ presents the crosses.

Taylor's fourth act of love: love suffers cheerfully, sweetly, willingly. And now Spurgeon reveals why: because the suffering is a gift from the Beloved. The motorhome season. The transition. The waiting. The not-yet-understanding. All presented — not inflicted. All gifts — not punishments. No small gifts. 🙏

✦ ✦ ✦
✦ Spurgeon · Joy over the Repenting

"The angels know what the joys of heaven are, and therefore they rejoice over one sinner who repents. We talk about pearly gates and golden streets, white robes and harps of gold, and crowns that never fade. But if an angel could speak to us of heaven, he would smile and say, 'All these fine things are but a child's picture book.'

We may talk, and think, and guess, and dream, but we can never measure the infinite heaven which God has prepared for His children. But the angels know its glory — and that is why they rejoice over the repenting sinner who has become heir to such an inheritance."

✦ 1 Corinthians 2:9

"Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

✦ Luke 15:10

"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."

✦ A Child's Picture Book — and the Real Thing

Spurgeon's angel smiles at our language for heaven: pearly gates, golden streets, white robes, harps of gold. A child's picture book. The real heaven is beyond the picture. Beyond the guess. Beyond the dream. Eye hath not seen. Ear hath not heard. The heart cannot contain it.

And the angels — who know the real thing — rejoice over one sinner who repents. Because that sinner has just become heir to the inheritance that makes pearly gates look like crayon drawings. When Le repented at midnight in Lubbock — the angels rejoiced. Not politely. Not formally. With the joy of those who know what the heir has just inherited. 🙏

"We have a new heart, new spirit. He determines that the old house shall be entirely demolished, and that He will build a new one. Wake up call!"

Demolition and Rebuild

Not repair. Not renovation. Demolition. The old house — rotten throughout, every timber decayed. God determines: tear it down and build new. The new heart is the new house.

✝️

The Crosses Are Gifts

Christ presents the crosses. Not accidents. Not punishments. Gifts — no small ones. The motorhome season, the transition, the waiting. All presented, not inflicted.

😇

The Angels Rejoice

Our language for heaven is a child's picture book. The real thing — eye has not seen. The angels know. That is why they rejoice over the repenting sinner who becomes heir.

Spurgeon at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel. And Le's wake up call.

Timely — again: Le said it on September 29: timely. And again today: timely message again from the Lord. The Spirit's pattern continues. The right reading on the right day in the right place. Spurgeon on demolition and rebuilding — while Le is parked at the foot of a cathedral built on a rock in the sea. The geography preaches alongside the text.

Le's wake up call: For Christians like myself, that are tempted to be frustrated for not living in a new house. The frustration is named. The temptation is real. And Le does not pretend otherwise — she confesses it. And then Spurgeon answers: the house that matters is the heart. And that house is already new. The brick-house is coming. The heart-house is finished. The wake up call is: stop grieving the absence of the temporary while living inside the permanent.

Spurgeon and Taylor together: Taylor's repentance (September 28): the greatest change — from sin to grace, from prison to throne. Spurgeon today: not renovation but demolition and rebuild. Taylor used the language of the courtroom — bills cancelled, records thrown out. Spurgeon uses the language of the builder — timbers rotten, foundation undermined, the whole house demolished. Different language. Same gospel. Total replacement, not partial repair.

The crosses are gifts: One sentence from Spurgeon — and it reframes the entire transition. The motorhome season is a cross. The waiting for a house is a cross. And the crosses are presented by Christ. Not randomly assigned. Not carelessly imposed. Presented — by the same Christ who intercedes, who has no honour He will not use, who carries Le's name on His breastplate. The cross-giver is the intercessor. The one who presents the suffering is the one who prays through it.

The angels and Le: Spurgeon says the angels know heaven's real glory — and that is why they rejoice over the repenting sinner. At midnight in Lubbock, the angels rejoiced over Le. Not because Le understood what she was inheriting. Because the angels did. The pearly gates and golden streets are the picture book. The real inheritance — the new heart, the new spirit, the new house — is beyond what eye has seen or ear has heard. And Le lives in it today. At the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel. In the new house that God determined to build. 🙏
